C.A.T. 5
C.A.T. 5 is created on the experience I endure on September 20, 2017, when Hurricane Maria, a category 5 a storm, devastated St. Croix, USVI. As a single mother of three, I faced the terrifying ordeal of ensuring my family’s safety amid ferocious winds that uprooted trees, sent debris flying, and tore roofs from houses. The storm left the island’s infrastructure in ruins, with power grids down and communication impossible. In the aftermath, securing essentials like water, food, and gasoline was exhausting. My eldest son’s plan to join the Air Force were disrupted and we don’t have any other choice but to relocate to West Palm Beach Florida starting anew with hope and resilience.
